Week 13, Day 3 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the word…
Deuteronomy 1.31-32 — “And you saw in the wilderness how the Lord your God carried you as a man carries his son all along the way you traveled until you reached this place. But in spite of this you did not trust the Lord your God…” (CSB)
In his recounting of the Israelite’s journey from Mt. Sinai towards the land of Canaan, Moses highlights the unbelief of the Israelite people. After all that God had done for them from Egypt up to when they arrived at Kadesh-Barnea, they still did not trust God to fight for them. Before I am too quick to question them or say ‘how could they be so blind?’, do I not do the same? How often do I fail to trust God with events going on in my life? How often do I communicate with God through prayer? How often do I thank Him for all the good things that I have…and yes, there are plenty of things to be thankful for. If I cultivate an attitude of thankfulness to God, my trust in Him will continue to increase.
