And now, a minute with the Word…

As individuals, as families, and as local churches, from whom do we take our spiritual cue? Whose lead do we follow? Do we base our judgments and practice upon popular opinion, the thoughts of others, or the well-established and respected traditions around us? “When the Lord your God cuts off before you…take care that you be not ensnared to follow them…and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods?—that I also may do the same.’ You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way” (12.29-31). “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ” (Galatians 1.10).
