Week 14, Day 5 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
Deuteronomy 23 begins will a list of some excluded from “the assembly of the LORD,” but the new covenant in Christ signifies a remarkable change. Jesus said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden” (Matthew 11.28), “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3.16), “And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd” (John 10.16). Indeed, the day has come “that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2.21; cf. Romans 10.13; Joel 2.32). For more on this theme, read the prophecy of Isaiah 56.1-8.
