Week 15, Day 4 — Deuteronomy 32-34
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the word…
Deuteronomy 34.7 — “Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died; his eyes were not weak, and his vitality had not left him.”
I want this to sink in for a moment. Moses was 120 years old when he died. Scriptures say that his eyes were not weak and his vitality had not left him. Moses was a man with a lot of responsibility. He was tasked with leading God’s people out of Egypt, leading them through the wilderness, and ultimately to the doorstep of the land of Canaan. He did all of this during what we would call the latter years of his life. What I want to contemplate for today is “Do I have the same vitality for doing God’s work that Moses did?” If I don’t, let me have an attitude that will work to change that, and find ways to grow my love for God and grow my zeal for doing good works for God. There is room in the kingdom of God my brother for the small things that you can do.
