Week 16, Day 1 — Joshua 3-5
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the word…
Remembrance is an important piece of Christianity. We are told to remember our Creator in the days of our youth, Lot’s wife (so that we are not pulled back to our former way of life), and our Savior’s death, burial, and resurrection. The most important of these, obviously, is Jesus. We remember Jesus because He saved us when we had no hope of escape (much like the Israelites at the Jordan river.) We remember Jesus to tell those around us what He did for us (like the Israelites were to do to their children). We remember Jesus every week so that we never forget what he has done for us (much like the Israelites remembered what God did for them each time they passed the 12 stones). We can never forget Jesus so that we, too, can enter the Promised Land when our journey is over.
