And now, a minute with the word…

1 Kings 1 is just another consequence of David’s sin with Bathsheba. When Nathan went and rebuked David in 2 Samuel 12.10, he told David that the sword would never depart from his house. This account of Adonijah’s bid to take over the throne of Israel at the end of David’s life ends in bloodshed…see 1 Kings 2. This is just another reminder of how serious sin is. There can be long lasting consequences to our sins, and we need to be mindful of how we conduct ourselves. Let us always have the determination to store up God’s word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him (Psalm 119.11).
