And now, a minute with the word…

Toward the end of his life, David acknowledged a truth that we would do well to meditate on.

1 Chronicles 29.14 — “…For everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your own hand.” (CSB)

All the possessions that the people of Israel were giving to the Lord to be used in the building of Temple were items that had been given to the people of Israel by God. David realized that God, as the creator of the earth, is the rightful owner of everything. They were simply giving these items back to God. For us today, we too have been greatly blessed with many possessions. They are in our care for a short time (or in some cases a very long time). We are to view them with the proper attitude. Let us not withhold our belongings from helping those who might have need or from a good work in the Kingdom.
