And now, a minute with the word…

1 Kings 3.9 — “So give your servant a receptive heart to judge your people and to discern between good and evil…” (CSB)

Solomon’s request of God shows us the kind of heart that we should want to have in our service to God. He asked for a receptive heart — one that is ready to receive instruction, ready to hear what God has to say, and ready to allow those words to mold and shape. Do I possess a receptive heart? Am I open to what God is telling me through His word today?

James 1.21 — “Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth, and the evil that is so prevalent, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save souls.” (CSB)
