And now, a minute with the word…

As Solomon finishes offering his prayer before all the people at the dedication of the Temple, he asks God to help him and the people of Israel follow him and he challenges the people to be wholly true to God.

1 Kings 8.61 — “Let your heart therefore be wholly true to the Lord our God, walking in His statutes and keeping His commandments, as at this day.” (ESV)

Is this a challenge that I am willing to take for myself? Am I willing to devote my life entirely to the Lord? Am I willing to make God’s desires my desires? If I am not, what is it in my life that is holding me back? We serve a God who has not withheld anything from us so that we can have a relationship with Him and be with Him for all eternity. He sent His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life (John 3.16). Let me challenge myself today to be wholly devoted to the Lord.
