And now, a minute with the Word…

When the tabernacle was erected for the first time, “the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle” (Exodus 40.34). When the temple was completed and the ark of the covenant brought into the Holy of Holies for the fist time (2 Chronicles 5.7), “the glory of the LORD filled the house of God” (verse 14); and when Solomon finished his prayer of dedication, “the glory of the LORD filled the temple” (7.1). Today, the church is “God’s temple” in which “God’s Spirit dwells” (1 Corinthians 3.16-17), collectively; and the Christian is also “a temple of the Holy Spirit” (6.19-20), individually. Like the tabernacle and temple before us, are we living for this highest purpose, to glorify God who made us by creation and who made us His own by redemption?
