And now, a minute with the Word…

“When the LORD your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you…You shall not intermarry with them…for they would turn away your sons from following me” (Deuteronomy 7.1-4). “When you come to the land that the LORD your God is giving you, and you possess it and dwell in it and then say, ‘I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me’ . . . And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away” (17.14, 17). “Now King Solomon loved many foreign women . . . And his wives turned away his heart” (1 Kings 11.1, 3). “Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company ruins good morals’” (1 Corinthians 15.33). When choosing a spouse, or helping some young person to choose, remember the spiritual consequences!
