Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
Hear the lesson of King Uzziah — “when he became strong, his heart was so proud that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful to the LORD his God,” and consequently would “have no honor from the LORD God” (2 Chronicles 26.16, 18). “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16.18). “Before destruction a man’s heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor” (Proverbs 18.12). “One’s pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor” (Proverbs 29.23). “Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted” (Matthew 23.12). “Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you” (James 4.10).
