Week 33, Day 3 — Micah 1-2
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the word…
Micah 2.6 — “Quit your preaching,” they preach. “They should not preach these things; shame will not overtake us.”
God’s people had reached a point where they no longer wanted to hear what God had to say to them. Their hearts had been so hardened and calloused by sin that they were no longer interested in God’s instruction. Am I that way today? When I read a passage in Scripture that cuts directly against how I’m living my life, do I react the same as the people did during the days of Micah? Do I humbly receive the words of God (2 Timothy 3.16-17) and allow them to change me and mold me into who God calls me to be?
James 1.21 — “Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.” (CSB)
