Week 33, Day 5 — Micah 5-7
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the word…
The book of Micah ends with a bold proclamation of faith.
Micah 7.18-20 — “Who is a God like you, forgiving iniquity and passing over rebellion for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not hold on to his anger forever because he delights in faithful love. He will again have compassion on us; he will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will show loyalty to Jacob and faithful love to Abraham, as you swore to our fathers from days long ago.” (CSB)
There is no God like our God. We serve a God who is willing to forgive our sins if we come to Him and humbly ask for forgiveness (1 John 1.9). The promises that He made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob all those thousands of years ago He fulfilled — every single one. He has cast our sin into the depths of the sea — they are so far removed from us and they are not remembered anymore (Jeremiah 31.34).
Let us be thankful that we serve a God who is loving & patient. Let us determine in our hearts that we will strive to please Him, serve Him, and tell others about how awesome our God is.
Romans 12.1-2 — “Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (CSB)
