Week 39, Day 3 — Isaiah 62-63
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
In Isaiah 63.15, Judah cried out to the Lord, “Look down from heaven and see, from your holy and beautiful habitation.” Even after all they had done to anger the Lord and bring His judgment upon themselves, how could they appeal for His salvation? “I will recount the steadfast love of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has granted us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel that he has granted them according to his compassion, according to the abundance of his steadfast love” (verse 7). God’s past grace, mercy, and lovingkindness — especially demonstrated in their exodus from Egypt (verses 8-14) — renewed their confidence, not in themselves, but in Him; and their history can renew our confidence in His willingness to save us too.
