And now, a minute with the Word…

During King Josiah’s restoration of the temple, Hilkiah the priest found the Book of the Law of God given by the hand of Moses and gave the book to Shaphan the scribe. Shaphan returned and read from the book before the king. Josiah was a king of action; after hearing the reading he gathered all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. Then he and all the leaders and people went up to the temple and renewed their covenant with God. Considering that renewed agreement and relationship, Paul penned that those who have rendered obedience to the gospel are to be “renewed in the spirit of your minds” (Ephesians 4:23) and “in knowledge after the image of its Creator.” (Colossians 3:10)
