And now, a minute with the Word…

In chapter 5, God tells Jeremiah to “Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, look and take note! Search her squares to see if you can find a man, one who does justice and seeks truth, that I may pardon her.” (Verse 1) Jeremiah found no one and said to God, ““These are only the poor; they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the Lord, the justice of their God. I will go to the great and will speak to them, for they know the way of the Lord, the justice of their God.” (Verses 4-5) But again, Jeremiah did not find one that obeyed God. Similarly, not even ten righteous men could be found to save Sodom and Gomorrah from destruction (Genesis 18:16-32). Paul says eternal destruction will come to those who do not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).
