Week 41, Day 4 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
In chapter 10, the false gods (idols) are compared with the true and living God. “But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure His indignation. Thus shall you say to them: “The gods who did not make the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under the heavens.” It is He who made the earth by His power, who established the world by His wisdom, and by His understanding stretched out the heavens.” (Verses 10-12) The idols, crafted from wood and decorated with silver and gold are still dead “like scarecrows in a cucumber field” (Verse 5) that cannot move, talk, or do anything. Our God, who created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1), He is alive!
