Week 42, Day 2 — Jeremiah 17-18
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the word…
God describes the heart of the kingdom of Judah as being inscribed with their sin. Their heart had been engraved with a diamond point as well as their altars. In every facet of their life, their sin was evident. They didn’t remember the God who had so graciously redeemed His people from Egyptian captivity and given them the Promised Land of Canaan. Instead, they looked to their Asherah poles. What would God say is inscribed on on my heart? Is it His word, His promises, and the story of Jesus? Or is my heart inscribed with the cares of this world, things that I am anxious about, or my own interests and hobbies?
Pslam 119.11 — “I have treasured your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you.” (CSB)
