And now, a minute with the Word…

God does not need, nor is He limited by, the things that man creates. In 2 Samuel 7:2, David says, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells inside tent curtains.” God responds, “Would you build a house for Me to dwell in? For I have not dwelt in a house since the time that I brought the children of Israel up from Egypt, even to this day, but have moved about in a tent and in a tabernacle.” God allows the temple to be built and He dwells with his people, but in Jeremiah 52:13 says, Nebuzaradan “burned the house of the LORD and the king's house; all the houses of Jerusalem, that is, all the houses of the great, he burned with fire.” And even still, God’s ultimate plan is being carried out exactly as He predicted.
