And now, a minute with the Word…

Regarding the impending judgment, the Lord said, “Their silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord” (Ezekiel 7.19). Similarly Jesus warned, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done” (Matthew 16.26-27). Indeed, “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death” (Proverbs 11.4).
