Week 45, Day 4 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
“The glory of the LORD” that filled the tabernacle (Exodus 40.34), and later the temple (1 Kings 8.11), is seen by Ezekiel in 8.1-4; but in 10.4, “The glory of the LORD” begins to move, first from the Most Holy Place “to the threshold of the house,” so that “the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was filled with the brightness of the glory of the LORD.” Verses 18-19 continue, “Then the glory of the LORD went out from the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim . . . And they stood at the entrance of the east gate of the house of the LORD.” And finally, in 11.23, “the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain that is on the east side of the city.” Their iniquities had made a separation between them and their God (Isaiah 59.2), and His presence could no longer dwell with them.
