Week 45, Day 5 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2024 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
At the pleading of Abraham (Genesis 18.22-33), God was willing to spare wicked Sodom, whose sin was “very grave” (verse 20), if even ten righteous souls could be found there; but by Ezekiel’s day, Judah was so wicked that God would not spare them even if three specific heroes of faith were found there — “even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness, declares the Lord GOD” (Ezekiel 14.14). In other words, Judah had become the Sodom and Gomorrah of that day (Isaiah 1.10), but worse, something that will be emphasized repeatedly in Ezekiel 16.
