And now, a minute with the Word…

In verses 10-11, the psalmist warns the rulers of the earth, to “serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.” Hebrews 12:28-29 instructs us to be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” The psalmist continues in verse 12, pay homage to the Son, “lest He be angry, and you perish” in your rebellion, “for His wrath is quickly kindled.” Paul similarly penned in 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8, “when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel.”
