And now, a minute with the Word…

David expressed the trouble he faced, with numerous enemies rising against him and others suggesting God had abandoned him. But this was not the first time David faced grim circumstances. David’s faith was not shaken, he trusted in God and slept soundly knowing God was completely in control. In verses 5-6, he wrote “I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of many thousands of people.” David confidently prayed for victory over his enemies, “Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For You strike all my enemies on the cheek; You break the teeth of the wicked. Salvation belongs to the Lord; Your blessing be on Your people!” (verses 7-8)
