Week 6, Day 5 — Psalm 4
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
David, who is believed to be the author of this psalm, expresses trust in God amidst adversity, stating “You have given me relief when I was in distress.” (verse 1) He asks his enemies how long they will continue to tarnish his reputation and seek after lies. In verse 3, he states “But know that the Lord has set apart the Godly for Himself; the Lord hears when I call to Him.” Similarly, in 2 Timothy 2:19 Paul wrote “The Lord knows those who are His” and in 2 Peter 2:9 Peter wrote “The Lord knows how to rescue the Godly from trials.” David advises people “Be angry, and do not sin” (verse 4) and encourages them to reflect on their actions and trust in God. Similarly, Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:26 “Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger.”
