And now, a minute with the Word…

“There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil,
a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.” (Proverbs 6.16-19)

As David declared, “you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you” (Psalm 5.4), but “you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield” (verse 12). Therefore, “As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy’” (1 Peter 1.14-16).
