Week 7, Day 2 — A minute with the Word
Series: 2025 Bible ReadingAnd now, a minute with the Word…
Like David in Psalm 6, the martyrs of Revelation 6 cried out, “how long?” (verses 9-10); and again like David, they were told, in a word, “Wait” (verse 11). But neither David’s nor the martyrs’ wait meant that God was inactive or inattentive; rather God’s timing was simply not theirs, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55.8-9). So David ended Psalm 6 with contentment, “for the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping. The LORD has heard my plea; the LORD accepts my prayer” (verses 8-9).
